Originally from Ireland, he began his career with an apprenticeship in Newcastle and has been passionate about the trade ever since—often joking he has refrigerant in his veins instead of blood! Known for his deep technical knowledge and hands-on experience, Dean is one of the North East’s most skilled engineers.
Fun fact: Dean once played the Scottish bagpipes in a pipe band back in Ireland.

The indoor unit is the space fan part. This pulls the the room air in through it and heats or cools it and then ejects it back out into the room. There is a coil inside it which heats or cools, depending on what the system is set on at the time. Indoor units come in a variety of options - wall mounted, ceiling fitted and ducted.

As the name suggests - this part lives outside and pumps refrigerant into the indoor unit heating or cooling the coil. These are always typically white boxed shapes and come in a variety of sizes depending on the kw size of the system.

When installing a air conditioning system, the biggest consideration to think about is the pipe run route. If the indoor is on an external wall then it's usually a straight forward case of putting home through wall to feed pipework through then fit out door unit on the exterior side. But if the space is an interior room then a route must be planned out.
